Mrs. Alta Palmer was born on January 1, 1928 in Kiefer, Oklahoma to Edgar and Dovie Wilson and she went to be with her Lord on September 28, 2017.

She was married Lt. Col. Stan Palmer (USAF Ret.) with whom she had two sons. Mrs. Palmer was a very caring and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was active in her church and community, as well as a member of the Shreveport Women's Club and served as past 100% District Governor for Lions Club International of NW Louisiana. She was successful in every role she held and made many friends through her involvements.

Mrs. Alta Palmer was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, E.A. Wilson, Juanita Tillotson, and Herman Wilson. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Stan Palmer; her sons, Larry Palmer and Dr. Mark Palmer (and his wife Mary); her grandsons, Eric Palmer and Ryan Palmer; and her sister-in-law, Jerry Wilson.

Pallbearers for Monday's service include Don Johnson, Rudolph Smith, Billy Bickham, Dr. Bill Bailey, Jim Tharp and Bill Nichols. Designated as honorary pallbearers are the members of the Nichols Sunday School Class.

The family wishes to extend special thank-you to Mrs. Judy Shipp who has done so much for Mrs. Palmer and been a constant, devoted friend to her.
