Joseph Provost, 81, of Bossier City left his earthly life to be with the Lord on March 30, 2015.
He was born in Loreauville, LA on June 26, 1933 to Loadice Provost and Aline Doty Provost. He grew up as a farm boy and joined the United States Air Force to serve his country for a career that lasted for twenty two years. Upon retiring from the Air Force, he began a new career at Libby Glass in Shreveport, LA that would span over twenty two years as well. He was a member of St....

Joseph Provost, 81, of Bossier City left his earthly life to be with the Lord on March 30, 2015.
He was born in Loreauville, LA on June 26, 1933 to Loadice Provost and Aline Doty Provost. He grew up as a farm boy and joined the United States Air Force to serve his country for a career that lasted for twenty two years. Upon retiring from the Air Force, he began a new career at Libby Glass in Shreveport, LA that would span over twenty two years as well. He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church and was a recipient of the Diocese Medal and had a passion for the study of God's word. He was also a member of Arcos Radio Club since 1955, Charter Member of The Knights of Columbus #4873 and Toastmasters. He had the ability to talk to people and help guide them through life. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend; honest and hardworking he never met a stranger and he was always willing to help others.
He was preceded in death by his parents Loadice Provost, Sr. and Aline Doty Provost and brothers Loadice "Pro" Provost, Jr. and Willie Provost and his grandson Mark Provost, Jr.
Joseph is survived by his wife of 60 years and best friend Verna Provost, sons Joel Provost and wife Debbie, Mark Provost and Timothy Provost and wife Eve, daughters Sharon Provost Tubbs, Shawn Provost Gorman and husband Joe and Stacie Provost, eleven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, brothers Eddie Provost and Fred Provost and sisters Shirley Blackburn and Shelia Pollock.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at St. Jude Catholic Church with Fr. Pike Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park.
The family would like to express sincere appreciation to Dr. Michael Angelo, the staff at Willis Knighton Bossier, the staff at Promise Hospital and Gamble Hospice. A special thanks to Mary Autry for her care and kindness.
